The Franchise Process

1. Request Franchise Information

In order for us to respond to your inquiry in an efficient and effective manner we need to know a little bit about you. Fill out the online franchise application on the “Next Steps” page and our franchise representative will contact you to discuss your application and discuss our program in additional detail and answer any initial questions you may have.

2. Submit a Franchise Application; Receive our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)

Once we have reached a mutual decision to move forward, we will provide and ask you to complete a formal Franchise Application. Upon receipt and review of that Application, we will provide our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), which will provide additional, comprehensive information on the Charlie's Chicken Franchise Program.

3. Schedule a Discovery Day

Once you have reviewed the FDD and want to learn more about Charlie's Chicken we will schedule a Discovery Day with you. During Discovery Day you will meet our Charlie's Chicken franchise team, tour local Charlie's Chicken restaurants and review the development process.

4. Sign Your Franchise Agreement

Upon mutual agreement and consent from Charlie's Chicken to move forward as a new Charlie's Chicken franchisee, you will sign a franchise agreement. The franchise agreement specifies your territory, and is your “license” to operate a Charlie's Chicken restaurant. It also outlines the contractual obligations that you will be expected to keep.

5. Site Selection

Choosing a location is perhaps one of the most important steps of the process. A Charlie's Chicken representative will tour your market with you to review potential sites you have identified. A site application form will be submitted to Charlie's Chicken for consent to the development of the location.

6. Build & Outfit Your Store

A Charlie's Chicken representative will assist you with the store layout and design. You will be provided with an architectural prototype plan. Customizing the plan for your specific location will be at your own expense. A list with preferred suppliers for equipment, fixtures, furniture and smallwares will be provided.

7. Open Your Store

Management training will be conducted six to eight weeks before your grand opening. You will receive a New Store Opening Manual that includes an opening checklist for the countdown to your restaurant opening. Throughout the entire opening process you will be in constant contact with your Charlie's Chicken representative. Our Charlie's Chicken training team is on site at your restaurant opening for training week and opening week support.
